용서/달라이 라마
나를 고통스럽게 만들고 상처를 준 사람에게
미움이나 나쁜 감정을 키워 나간다면
내 자신의 마음의 평화만 깨어질 뿐이다.
하지만 그를 용서한다면
내 마음은 평화를 되찾을 것이다.
우리를 힘들게 하고
상처 입힌 누군가가 있기 때문에
우리는 용서를 베풀 기회를 얻는다.
용서는 가장 큰 마음의 수행이다.
용서는 단지 우리에게 상처를 준 사람들을
받아들이는 것만을 의미하지는 않는다.
그것은 그들을 향한 미움과 원망의 마음에서
스스로를 해방시키는 것이다.
그러므로 용서는 자기 자신에게 베푸는
가장 큰 선물인 것이다.
